Week 3

* Describe the Project or Activity – what will you be doing?

-Assisting with a variety of projects in the office, but mainly for the sake of this class I will be assisting and tracking community outreach projects, and cases. That is that while working in the District 3 office, we get many calls from our constituents across the county, not just from within “D3” that means having the understanding of the county-state- and elements of the federal system in order to send our constituents to where they need to be. This in my mind is the perfect place to track interagency conflict and collaboration while still being able to make a direct impact on individuals lives.

* Describe your Schedule at the Partner Organization – when will you do the work?

-The schedule of work is still being negotiated as we speak, as they are just joining the county system (Supervisor Lee was sworn in less than half a year ago.) That means for a lowly staffer like me has to wait his turn to officially join the staff- as people leave and “school” gets a bit easier. However because of my close relation with the person in charge of the comms office and the person in charge of outreach- I will be able to ask the same questions I would if I were there everyday.

* Describe your Method of Communication – will you do the work by phone? Zoom? Do you have the technology tools you will need to do the work? If not, how will you acquire them? Do you need support from NDNU in acquiring the tools you’ll need to get your work done?

-I will be working over the internet to track and accumulate data-both publicly available and not. This will be in conjunction with the necessary phone calls and zooms I will have to attend in order to understand what I am tracking.

* Describe any additional terms agreed upon – e.g. required reading, anything that must be done prior to starting work such as background check or online training, etc.

-Get healthy enough to make a major impact on the office, and my bosses life (the head of communications), so he can relax just a bit more.
